I used a 6B pencil to get the dark parts of hair as dark as I could (even though Liv Tyler doesn't actually have black hair...).

For the reflexions and strands of hair I used different pencils (HB mechanical pencil (0.5mm), 2B, 5B, 6B) and a kneaded eraser for the highlights.
